Arme Oy has been supporting young Matti Virens running career for quite
some time. This year has been injury-free and, for instance, the training camp
in Columbia together with Jukka Keskisalo proved a success. As a result of
this, Matti ran his own personal record in 1500m in Sweden on July 6th. The
Finnish news broadcast commented on the achievement as follows:
The 22-year old Virén improved his personal record by 14 one-hundredths of a second. In the last three years he has improved his record by a total of 16 seconds. Matti Virén is currently being coached by the Finnish Sports Unions group captain Tommy Ekblom.
